Description

Peppermint plants, have been used medicinally for thousands of years. They reach a height of two feet or more, have purple stems and long leaves; and a familiar minty aroma. 

Peppermint has been used as a remedy for indigestion since the days of Egypt. Peppermint is a stimulant and helps food in the stomach digest faster. It also relaxes the muscles of the digestive system.

Caution

Do not take pure peppermint. Give only very dilute preparations to children younger than two years old.    Pregnant women with morning sickness should use a dilute tea rather than a more potent infusion.
