Cajuput Fact Sheet

Botanical Name – (Melaleuca cajuputi)
Part of plant used – Leaf and twig

Cajuput oil has been used for centuries as a remedy for rheumatism and cholera and has other antiseptic uses. It is a top not and vaporizes quickly.

Physical Applications

  • Temporary relief from rheumatic pain, muscle stiffness and tired aching limbs – massage, bath and warm compress
  • Inhibits bacteria therefore good for colds, sinus, bronchial cough and respiratory infections – vaporizer, gargle (do not swallow any of gargle and use only one drop of essential oil to half glass water) and massage

Cautions

  • Do not take internally – if swallowed seek medical attention immediately and DO NOT INDUCE vomiting. Give a glass of water.
  • Do not use on children
