There has been a great deal of superstition surrounding mistletoe. It was held sacred to various peoples in Europe who believed this plant could keep the evil spirits away from them. These days mistletoe is widely known as part of a Christmas kissing ritual. 

Mistletoe is believed to be a poisonous herb and some authorities believe it should not be used at all. However, there are some of its loyal supporters who report that the herb can remedy high blood pressure. There is an active ingredient in the herb is the toxic substance, and it is this substance which aids high blood pressure.
